from Vienna Airport Schwechat and Bratislava to Smolenice Castle
on 14 SEP 2025 and back on 18 SEP 2025.

The Conference Bus(es) from Vienna Airport Schwechat via Bratislava to Smolenice Castle

The bus(es) should leave the Vienna Airport Schwechat at ~13:00; but no later than at 13:30 (in special circumstances at 14:00 as latest).

The bus will park somewhere near the Exit from the Vienna Airport Schwechat early afternoon - cca from 12:30.

There will be the "ALAMY_9" guides in the bus who will take care of you.

In the case there are two buses, one of them should stop in Bratislava at the parking-place in front of the cinema “KINO ISTROPOLIS”.

The planned arrival of the bus from Vienna Airport Schwechat at the stop above in Bratislava is at ~14:30.

The bus should leave the stop above in Bratislava no later than at 15:00.

Then, the bus will continue to Smolenice Castle with planned arrival at the Conference Venue at ~16:00.

The other bus, if there are two buses and if leaving at ~14:00, would drive directly from Vienna Airport Schwechat to Smolenice Castle wiith planned arrival at the Conference Venue at ~16:00.

Individual transport from Vienna and Bratislava to Smolenice Castle

To get from the Vienna Airport Schwechat (http://www.viennaairport.com/) to Bratislava, it is possible to take a public bus (follow the sign “Buses to Bratislava” at the “arrivals” zone of the Airport). The buses depart every 30-60 minutes (Slovak-Lines or RegioJet). This may be convenient for those who arrive at Vienna earlier and want to accommodate in a hotel in Bratislava.

To get from the Bratislava Airport Milan Rastislav Stefanik (https://www.bts.aero/en/) to “KINO ISTROPOLIS”, please take the public bus No. 61 and leave that bus at the bus-stop “Trnavske myto” (it takes ~20-25 minutes). Other possibility is to take a taxi at the Airport.

For individual public transportation from Bratislava to Smolenice, you can take a bus from Bratislava Bus Station "Mlynske Nivy" (timetable at: http://www.cp.sk/bus/); there are two direct buses from Bratislava to Smolenice on 14th September (Sunday) as follows:

(1) Bratislava - Smolenice: 16:10-17:32 (Bratislava Bus Station - platform 23)

(2) Bratislava - Smolenice: 20:00-21:12 (Bratislava Bus Station - platform 23)

Please inform the Main Organiser in advance at Stefan.Janecek@savba.sk. A conference car can be arranged for you to pick you up from the Smolenice bus stop and take you to the Smolenice Castle (it is a few km up to a hill).

It may be convenient to check the public urban transport in Bratislava or the interactive map of Bratislava.

If you prefer to travel by your own by car, please, see the possibilities on, e.g., Google maps on how to get to Smolenice from Bratislava (~65 km).

The Conference Bus(es) from Smolenice Castle via Bratislava to Vienna Airport Schwechat

The bus(es) should leave the Smolenice Castle, in fact, right after the Closing the Conference Programme around ~12:30; but no later than at 13:00.

Participants will receive their lunch packed for later refreshment.

In the case there are two buses, one of them could stop in Bratislava at ~14:00-14:15 (if necessary) at the parking-place in front of the cinema “KINO ISTROPOLIS”.
